English Black Cat 05/16/06

So I'm sitting here, English tea in one hand, and my peaceful jet-kitty in my lap...sitting like a cat princess as dainty as can be taught. We journeyed to Nolde Forest this morning....how enchanting. There is a festival at french creek this weekend, Called the: 2006 PA Wild Resource Festival. Website:

We'll be there.

I finished a pair of pants today for a Handfasting today, and it made me think of Var, which ventured my thoughts to some oaths that I have made these past few months. In front of my friends and family, and in private. Var is a Norse Goddess with whom I'd associate such things with. Reminds me that sometimes, I have to stop and breathe once in a while...how will I ever fulfill these promises if I am not with clear mind? I also realized, while in ritual, I had left Her out of my words, I have since personally corrected that...Respectfully.

One of those oaths I've taken was to continue my studies of herbology...I've not paid much attention to that, lately. With life slowing down, I can do that. Many people call me a nerd for it, but if not for that...I wouldn't know the AMAZING anti-cancerous properties autumn crocus offers, or the "Montezuma's revenge" sort of action of the beautiful Mayapple plant...lol, oak trees intentionally grow thicker leaves after a gypsy moth invasion (which can completely massacre the tree). Not only does the oak grow thicker leaves (making it twice as much work for them to chew the leaves), but also ups the tannin & phenol levels and lowering the water level. Along with the tough leaves, the tannins/phenols combine with the caterpillar's proteins and retard or prevent digestion of the meal. Less water will dehydrate the caterpillar. By doing that, the gypsy moths' 2nd generation will not only make them smaller, but chances are they probably won't reproduce.

So HA!...I'd never have known any of those fun facts without my NERDY studies. =D

Valete!
